Technical Project Manager, Senior (Bucharest)

Description

Responsible for managing complex projects through entire project lifecycle (inception, design, development, integration and test, trial, and deployment). Act as a liaison to ensure project compliance to standards, coordinate multiple complex high priority tasks.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of experience in software development;
  • Minimum three years of experience in project management;
  • Experience with Agile Methodology – Scrum Kanban;
  • Proficiency with at least one web development language;
  • Extensive leadership experience and strong teaming abilities;
  • Exposure to architecture, infrastructure and enterprise systems;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

Key responsibilities

Pre and during development:

  • Take the roadmap, do a sanity check, influence it if needed/possible, and work with the BPM to break it down into ranked projects that can be brought in to planning sequentially;
  • Understand the business requirements clearly from the Business Project Manager, and highlight any changes that need to be made when these requirements are seen in the light of our existing feature set, gaps and limitations; this is often done after consulting with production/customer support;
  • Work with the architect and/or Dev Lead to do a technical feasibility check on the business asks and design what the solution will look like; capture these detailed, technical requirements as stories that the Devs can pick up for execution;
  • Guide Devs towards coming up with effort estimates; work with project managers to create timelines which are shared with the business so they can plan launch/commercialization activities;
  • Answer any Dev/QA queries about the stories; seek clarifications from BPMs around edge cases if needed;
  • Get feature demos with the BPMs; provide early feedback and course-correct if needed; accept stories (i.e. mark them as completed);
  • Guide the expected performance of features.

Post-development:

  • Ensure Application Maintainance and Prod-Ops understand what’s being released; answer any questions with Dev/QA teams;
  • Create technical documentation using internal tools (like an internal product launch) so other teams know what’s being worked on and contributors feel appreciated;
  • Conduct periodic lookbacks, sharing how implementations are performing against metrics/KPIs.
