Press Release
Bucharest, February 24, 2021
In 2021 Softelligence, the technology and consulting firm invests in the sustainable development of society through education and innovation. During this year the company will run the “Generation Tomorrow” CSR program that will include initiatives to support projects with a positive social impact on the medium and long term.
“Softelligence – Generation Tomorrow” will have four stages, every quarter. The company will support this program by actively involving the mentors of the Softelligence team and also by carrying out activities to promote educational projects by Softelligence, NGOs, or other entities.
The first activity within the “Generation Tomorrow” program is to support the “UPtown Ecothon” – city planning & environment hackathon. This event is organized by “Robo-Sapiens”, the robotics team of the Spiru Haret National College in Bucharest, and will take place online between February 26-28, 2021.
UPtown Ecothon is the first hackathon organized by high school students to explore solutions to solve existing problems and improve the current infrastructure of Bucharest by using technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Robot Process Automation. The hackathon’s themes are city planning and environmental awareness. The high school students aim to help improve many aspects of the city, such as public transportation, green spaces by stimulating creativity and teamwork. This project is addressed to high school students, but also professionals from various organizations (people aged 16-26).
Adrian Blidăruș, Softelligence CEO: “We started << Softelligence – Generation Tomorrow >> with the clear goal of contributing to a better society. During this year we aim to support a series of projects that have a positive impact, either in creating a sustainable city or in the future of young people. UPtown Ecothon is this kind of project – initiated and coordinated by a team of young people who want to make the city where they live better. When I first heard about their project, I knew we had to support it. Another factor that determined us to get actively involved is the fact that this hackathon is based on the same values as our company – to generate value through technology, creativity, and teamwork”.
In the coming months, other stages of the “Generation Tomorrow” CSR program will take place. Softelligence aims to identify and select those projects that use technology, creativity, or teamwork to generate beneficial changes throughout society. “Generation Tomorrow” joins other previous Softelligence initiatives to support the community, such as the collaboration with the Hope and Homes for Children Association, the Ajungem Mari program, the T.I.B.E.R.I.U.S Association, or SOS Satele Copiilor Romania.
